Public Notice: Cthulhu NaNoWriMo
SYNOPSIS
“Across the country and even the globe, thousands of writers just like you are getting ready to pen an entire novel in only one month’s time. This event, known as National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo for short), takes place every November. The idea behind NaNoWriMo is to churn out a complete novel in 30 days.”
Started as a program for young writers, the NaNoWriMo, or the National Novel Writing Month began in 1999 as a challenge to would-b writers: write 50,000 words of a novel in thirty days. Since then, more and more writers have participated in this daunting task, spurred on by the knowledge that their literary labors are not being done alone.
This year, some writers involved in the community content program for Call of Cthulhu, the program that allows that allows fan-created work to be published on DriveThruRPG, decided to add a little love for eldritch writing by taking up the pen and the keyboard for the yearly event and devoting their talents to the Call.
Alongside these writers, I myself have decided to throw my black hat into the ring and tackle this 50K challenge – and so can you! Writers and aspiring writers are connecting on social media to encourage one-another to engage in the event.
